The balloon releasing festival organized by Hilton Hotel Colombo has been cancelled due to a notification made by the Defence Authorities that this event cannot be conducted due to prevailing security conditions.
Colombo Hilton Hotel is in existence for 21 years and its 21st Anniversary is celebrated with a series of festivities. The planned balloon release also part of this series of celebrations. The plan was to release 2,100 balloons and in some of them to include valuable vouchers. Those who pick those vouchers were to be offered gifts accordingly.
